I’m Broken Guitar Lesson – Pantera

In this I'm Broken guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this Pantera classic note-for-note!

The tuning is always a bit hard to explain with Dimebag. Essentially, this tuning is his version of D standard. So I am teaching the lesson in D standard which is, starting from the 6th string D G C F A D.

However, Dimebag usually had his guitar tuned an extra quarter-step flat from whatever tuning a song was in. The way his guitar tech describes a tuning like this one, is to tune the entire guitar down 3 half-steps C# F# B E G# C#, THEN raise the tuning back up 40 cents. In any case, just be aware that if you aren't matching his pitch, playing along with the album will sound off.

"I'm Broken" has some of my favorite riffs that Dimebag ever wrote. The great thing is that they are not very hard to play, so you can really focus on the groove.

The solo however, has a very challenging legato based section along with some pretty challenging bends.

I hope you guys enjoy learning one of my favorite Pantera songs!

R.I.P. Dime and Vinny!

FYI Dimebag always tuned to 432 hz. Whether it was for cowboys from hell in his regular e standard tuning (just at 432 hz) or his Drop D tunings or even his C# tunings. Put your tuner to 432 hz, tune it to E standard or D standard and Getcha Pull \m/,
