Judgement Day Guitar Lesson – Van Halen
In this Judgement Day guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this awesome Van Halen song off of their For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge album note-for-note.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
We not only have some killer riffs in this one, but Eddie's solo is partly based off of a death defying tapping lick that requires you to tap the notes of the fret-hand with your hand over-the-top of the fretboard. It might look impossible, but I will show you how to break it down, make sense of it, and learn how to practice it correctly.
I will go through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.
"Judgement Day" is definitely one of my favorite Hagar era Van Halen tunes. It's driving 8th note rhythms and completely insane guitar solos just can't be beat.
