Keep On Loving You Guitar Lesson – REO Speedwagon
In this Keep On Loving You Guitar Lesson video, I will show you how to play this great song from REO Speedwagon in it's entirety.
The tuning is standard tuning.
Not only will I be covering all of Gary Richrath's great guitar work, but I will also be demonstrating a guitar arrangement of the main chord progression that Kevin Cronin plays in the verses and intro of the song on piano.
In order to perform that piano arrangement in the original key, I have opted to use a capo at the 1st fret. Keep in mind the capo is just for the piano arrangement. All of the normal guitar parts do not use a capo.
I wanted to include that piano chord progression since it is the main riff of the song. It is an F Lydian progression. Pretty cool eh?
I will go through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording. I will also cover Gary Richrath's main solo note-for-note.
For the remaining guitar fills that occur throughout the rest of the song, I have just chosen to show you the scales that he is using so that you can improvise your own thing there, just like he does live.
