The Frayed Ends of Sanity Guitar Lesson – Metallica
In this The Frayed Ends Of Sanity guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this incredible song off of Metallica's ...And Justice For All album.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
Well we definitely have our work cut out for us with this one. This lesson video clocks in at a little of 70 minutes in order to do "Justice" to the song. Pun intended...
"The Frayed End of Sanity" is an absolute beast of a song with tons of crushing riffs, musical interludes, harmony guitar sections and of course Kirk Hammett's killer guitar solo.
I will take you through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.
Some of these riffs aren't overly difficult to play, but do contain quite a few variations throughout the song. Other riffs are very difficult to get up to speed and for those I will break down the picking used.
For Kirk's solo, we have a lot of classic Kirk Hammett licks incorporating rapid tapping, bar dives, fast blues licks, double-stops and fast triplet licks.
Have fun learning this monster! Carl...
