Tuesday’s Gone Guitar Lesson – Lynyrd Skynyrd

In this Tuesday's Gone guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play all of the chords to this great ballad by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

The tuning is standard tuning.

The chords to Tuesday's Gone are relatively simple, using just basic open chords and a basic barre chord.

I will demonstrate each section of the song in the order that it appears.

There are lot's of solos and fills through the song by not only the guitar, but piano and a string section as well.

What I have done instead of transcribing these solos note-for-note, is demonstrate the scale patterns to use in order to improvise your own solo over the chord progressions.

Here is a TAB of the scale patterns used to make it easy for you to follow.

Tuesday's Gone Scale Patterns TAB

I will say, that even though I demonstrate just A major pentatonic and the A major sale patterns,  if you choose to improvise any of the chord progressions that contain a G major scale, you will need to use A Mixolydian over that. That is what you will find the piano solo using.

I hope you guys enjoy learning this great song by Lynyrd Skynyrd!

    Awesome Lesson! Thank you!
Could you do Skynyrd’s Needle and the Spoon? It has a really cool main solo with wah and then a cool outtro solo as well that I’d love to learn.
    Thanks for all you do

I agree with Matthew on his request! You never realize how good Carl is at teaching guitar lessons until you see others on YouTube
