Advanced Legato Techniques Pt.2
This lesson is part two of our series focusing on legato techniques for the experienced player.
In this video we will try a few string skipping and string crossing exercises using legato. We will practice legato exercises in the style of Steve Vai, Shawn Lane and Ritchie Kotzen.
Make sure to keep your left hand fingers pointing in an upward direction and keep a good amount of space between the inside of you palm and the bottom of the fretboard.

Keep your fret hand loose when doing these exercises and don't be afraid to stop for a while if your hand is feeling a bit sore and tired.

Hey Bill, if you want you can send me a link to a video of you playing the parts of “For the Love of God” you are having trouble with and I will check it out and see what I think can be done.
Actually seeing what your hands are doing are really the only way I could help though. 🙂
Carl..
thanks so much but how can i send it?
Just post it on YouTube and send me a link to it.
If you don’t want the whole world seeing it you can make it private so only people you send the link to can access the video. 🙂
Then just send the link to my email.
Carl..
