Breathe Guitar Lesson – Pink Floyd

In this Breathe guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this classic song from the great Pink Floyd in it's entirety.

The tuning is standard tuning  E A D G B E.

The opening chords are very simple and contain some sparse fills that I will cover in the order that they appear. Most of the fills are based around 6th shapes that are played across the B and D strings with the open G string droning between them.

The second sequence of chords uses some 7th chords that have a really laid back feel about them.

During much of the song, David Gilmour plays slide guitar melodies on a double-neck lap steel guitar in open G tuning. I will recreate some some of those melodies with a normal guitar slide on a standard tuned guitar. However, you can't really get this part exact since there is more than more lap steel being played at the same time. So I will focus on the essential melodies.

Have fun learning this great laid back classic from the incomparable Pink Floyd!

Can’t believe no one has commented yet. Spent X-mas messing around with the amp & pedals trying to mimic that swell delay feel. Great short course!

After a long day at work…a bottle of wine, loud amp and playing slide on Breathe….a perfect trifecta.
